Fall is such a beautiful time of year, and I love decorating my home to reflect the seasons. I’ve been doing it for 3 years now and each year I change it up a bit. I wanted to give you some ideas to decorate your home on a budget for this fall! You can go over board or add subtle touches of fall, either way I hope you enjoy seeing how I have decorated. I have a few images from the past years for fall.
As you can see I have done traditional and non traditional fall colors, both are beautiful but traditional just sets the mood for fall. Today I want to share how I decorated my home this year for Fall 2020 using old and new decor with a few DIYs I created to get this rustic fall decor look for my home.
Fall Entryway
In the entryway I used these beautiful burnt orange colored pillows I made using fabric from Joann’s. I also used my Cricut Maker to make this beautiful “hello autumn” lumbar pillow (I recycled one of my old Christmas pillows for this). You can see how here. I used a hops bush wreath on this thrifted wall decor piece I got for $12 and painted a flat black color years ago. The fall floral stems are from last year and are similar to the wreath but added these cute pumpkin stems I got from Hobby Lobby this year; there were lots of colors to choose from. I added in cream, wood and copper pumpkins to soften it up a bit and give that rustic fall look I wanted.
Living room
For this years Fall decor I did not want to go overboard. I used darker autumn colors rather than brighter ones for a more subdued look. I wanted it to feel cozy and not too dark either. Since my furniture is lighter I used darker accents to make it feel more moody for fall.
I added in a few creams to the darker surfaces of the mantel and coffee table.
I wanted a dark rusty blanket but the stores didn’t have the color I wanted so I used what I had. I think my favorite part is the coffee table decor with the new gold tray and the dark florals in the light vase.
I brought color to the dining room with some rust colored flowers I had from last year. We eat every meal here so simple is key for this fall dining room. I like to be able to clean around or even remove the table decorations depending on the meal/number of folks we have over for dinner.
I added a simple pumpkin sign I diyed with Dollar Tree products and some simple acorns on the side to the kitchen counter.
