High End Home Décor Dupes & DIYs

I love seeing other people’s homes and how they decorate them via things like Pinterest, Instagram, going to a parade of homes event, etc. It’s a great way to brainstorm for new ideas/maybe see how a particular item looks in someone’s home instead of just in a catalog or in a store. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has gotten sticker shock after finding out the prices for some of the items! I remember one time I saw a gorgeous table and when I looked it up it cost as much as all the furniture in my entire house! The good news, however, is that sometimes you can…

    Simple DIY Valentines Decor

Today I am sharing simple Valentines Day decor with you. Adding a few touches here and there to add a little color but not be tacky. In the past I have gone full board but this year I wanted simplicity. I love buying seasonal decor items at Dollar Tree to make some beautiful Holiday DIYs on a budget. Dollar Tree did not disappoint this year, they actually keep getting better each season. They had some new items this year that made it super easy to make beautiful crafts. Grapevine hearts, wooded hearts and gorgeous giftbags. When I say easy I mean it, taking a bag and turning it into a…

The living room is my favorite part of…

    Interior finishes

I’m so excited to share some of the process we went through in choosing finishes for our home and I will also show you some of the final selections! Choosing finishes sounds so fun and easy but it isn’t always so. I’m definitely part of the group of people who find the whole process quite hard at times. For this house; I had to go into a design meeting, speak with a designer, look around, get rough quotes on product (and some of those quotes took a few days to be returned), and then make some final selections all in half a day! I even had a plan going in…

    Framing is Complete!

The framing of our house is now completed. It did not take long at all for the house to take shape. Its amazing that in a matter of days you go from dirt to a framed home and your dream is now a reality not just a thought. The lumber was delivered and the fun began. The first step was to put down the floor joists on the foundation border. Plywood goes down over the floor joists to give you a floor to walk one. Just like that the base of our home is done the walls can go up! Seeing the walls go up is pretty exciting! These men…

    Fall Decorating Ideas!

Fall is such a beautiful time of year, and I love decorating my home to reflect the seasons. I’ve been doing it for 3 years now and each year I change it up a bit. I wanted to give you some ideas to decorate your home on a budget for this fall! You can go over board or add subtle touches of fall, either way I hope you enjoy seeing how I have decorated. I have a few images from the past years for fall. As you can see I have done traditional and non traditional fall colors, both are beautiful but traditional just sets the mood for fall. Today…

    We Broke Ground!

After months of waiting to get the permit, we finally broke ground and work had started on the foundation of our new home! Before we sent the house plans to get permitted, we got to pick where on our land we wanted the house to sit and where the driveway would be. Let me tell you, it was so much fun to see the orange stakes indicating the layout of our house on the dirt. Although it didn’t look like much, it was finally starting to feel real (even if just a little bit). Something we have dreamed and worked towards for the last 10 years was actually coming to…

    Building Our Dream!

I am so excited to tell you that we finally found the land we want to raise our family on! We bought the land and are currently building our home on it. I want to take you along with us on this journey and I hope you will enjoy being a part of it! The journey to find land! We started looking for land over 4 years ago; hunting for that perfect spot to raise our family and maybe eventually grow old in. God closed many doors but then opened an amazing one when we moved to the Pacific Northwest over a year ago. We tried looking for land here…

DIY Modern Farmhouse Laundry Room Makeover

Today, I’m sharing my DIY modern farmhouse laundry room makeover with you! Let’s face it laundry sucks and it’s an everyday chore that will never get rid of so why not make your space beautiful! The best part about this makeover is it’s budget friendly! The laundry room before is boring, ordinary and not a place I wanted to be! Since laundry is simply a part of my life and something that needs to be done I needed to change the space into something more appealing! DIY Time! I started by removing the ugly wire shelving. I patched the holes because I would be adding floating shelves.  Adding wood shelving…

    Kids’ Room Makeover

Today, I’m sharing how I transformed my boys’ room from blah and boring to wow! This room makeover is not only beautiful and functional but it can also grow with the kids. Getting started! I knew I wanted to add some pizzazz to their room without a lot of fuss so I used removable wallpaper. I’ve used removable wall paper few times now in our home, and I love it because its easy to install and easy to remove when I was done with it (This portion of the makeover, at least with the brands I have tried, is renter friendly). Removable Wallpaper! Adding removable wallpaper is super easy. The…
