Hey friends! Today I am sharing some summer decorating Ideas with you! My home decor style is a modern farmhouse style with some new, old and DIY decor mixed together! I love to decorate but I have to do it on a budget because we all know its quite pricey these days to change up your decor. So I hope these pictures will give you some inspiration to decorate your home on a budget!
Summer Entryway
So starting off in the entryway I have added some items from project 62 from target and also the dollar spot! You can always find smaller decor pieces there for under five dollars.
The mirror, console table and the hello sign are all from target! I added some taller greenery from Kirkland’s into a large pitcher I also got from there last year. I added some old chunky book and just removed there covers, along with a plant from Marshall.
Living Room
Moving into the living room I have added pops of yellow into my decor to brighten up my space! The yellow pillows are a target hack and you can make them for $3 watch how here:
Lighting isn’t so good in this room so I keep lots of whites to keep it airy and bright feeling. The wall tins and florals are my favorite wall accent pieces around my thrifted black centerpiece. When i found this piece it was ugly red brown color so all I did was spray it with flat black spray paint.
Decorating the coffee table can be very simple with just a pitcher of florals or you can add a tray with some smaller decor pieces layered inside of it. It adds interest but also easy to remove when wanting to use the table.
now this tray I thrifted and gave it a face lift which you can do as well to almost anything watch this video to see how:
Summer Fireplace Decor
Now moving over to the fireplace which takes up almost the whole wall, I kept it simple with some florals and pictures with the focal piece being the mirror to add light and reflection. This fireplace used to be red brick but I white washed it and it has been the best DIY home project I’ve done. If your interested in doing this in your home check out this blog post!
I love how bright and cheerful the fireplace mantle looks with all the whites and yellows added in. On the brick floor I have an old craftsman tool box I found thrifting and added a piece of babies breath garland and sunflowers inside of it.
Now for a more simple farmhouse look with just a pop of color you could do what I did here just adding one wall decor piece to the middle and some florals.
Summer Dinning Room
In the dinning room I have this beautiful pew bench I built and guess what you can to for about $65! Watch how to here :
On the pew I added my DIY lemon pillow along with an IKEA pillow and hobby lobby pillow! I added a farmhouse sign I made over the window frame which I have a DIY video for as well, you can watch here:
Another summer decor look could be without the pops of yellow for a more subtle look by adding garland onto the window frame as well as some greenery from ikea into my large farmhouse jug!
